This strategy has been taking from the 'Copy That!' show. A show and community that helps beginners start a career in copywriting. Read below
Jonathan, a copywriter for 'The Copy That' show, shared something really interesting about promoting webinar events.
He wanted to experiment with a landing page split test:
1 Landing page without a phone number required
1 Landing page with a mandatory phone number required
The results were a shock.
The phone number landing page had a 30-40% opt-in rate
However, most webinar campaigns avoid doing this because they think it might scare people away from signing up.
But not Jonathan. He's been using this strategy ever since.
Here's how the SMS Sequence works:
1. Whenever X signs up for his webinar, he was able to send them a personal text message right away, 'Hey X, its Jonathan, I just sent you a quick email about the upcoming webinar. '
2. The day before the webinar, he then sends another text to remind X on the event.
3. Right before the webinar started, he sends X a text with the link to the Webinar so they could join on their phone.
Why is this cool?
Think about it. We all get tons of emails every day. So, texting is a way to stand out and make sure people don't forget about the event.
Sometimes emails end up in promotion or spam folders, and folks miss them.
But a text message? That's hard to miss.
Plus, Mobile is how 55% of people consume content now days.
So don't be afraid to experiment with SMS sequences for your next virtual event,
it can pay off big time.
